The clay castle in Zanelor Valley

Nestled at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains in the heart of Transylvania, a small Romanian town is now home to a fairy tale come true in the form of an adorable castle built of clay and sand. The name of the castle is the Castle of Lut Valea Zenelor, a fitting name for these ancient architectural spaces.

Resembling a village of gnomes, the Lut Castle complex was created from clay, sand and pure whimsy. Everything is made of natural materials, and the windows and doors are different, with each room having its own separate entrance. The castle was built in the middle of the village of Porumbacu de Sus, 26 km west of Sâmbăta.
