Here are the best beginner-friendly ski slopes in Poiana Brasov

You finally worked up the courage to put on your rashers and get on skis. Congratulations! The beauty begins now.

Poiana Brasov is the most modern and important ski resort in Romania. The ski area exceeds 24 km, being the largest in the country. The resort enjoys the most modern cable transport facilities, with the Postăvarul Express gondola lift and the Ruia chairlift being of the same standard as the facilities in Austria. In total, Poiana Brasov has two cable cars, one gondola lift, two chairlifts and two ski lifts with a capacity of 8,450 people per hour.

For very beginners

If you’ve never skied before and don’t have a friend to help you, I recommend working with a ski instructor a few times. It will make your life a lot easier and help you understand some basics. I know it’s a big expense, especially since it doesn’t come alone (ski rental, ski pass, etc.) but it’s the best decision to make sure you learn well the first time.

The Bradul trail

From our point of view, the Bradul trail is the best area to learn. With a length of almost 500 metres, the trail has it all:

Very wide and smooth trail;
Tele-ski with a decent price – 2 points per climb;
Rental centre at the base;
Many schools and many instructors;

For those who don’t want to sit at the bottom of the slope anymore

This category would include all beginners who have been on the small slopes mentioned above a few times and now have an appetite for a bigger challenge.

The Red Trail

This is by far the best trail for beginners. At over 4km in length, the trail is one with very easy portions but also with intermediate portions. You can get to this trail with the Telegondola.

Sulinar – First part

This trail is a little more difficult than the Red Trail. By “First part” I mean all the way to the lake. After that, things get more complicated and difficult. Just like the Red Road, this trail is accessible using the chairlift.

Poiana Brasov is thus the perfect choice for families where members have different levels but want to enjoy skiing together in the same resort.
